Last week the CIA director said the average life expectancy for a Russian soldier on the battlefield is just 20-30 minutes. Which is crazy but also not true. I mean they don’t last long, especially once they’re pushed out on assault, which one Russian referred to as a one way trip, but even then, 20 minutes is a bit of a stretch.

The Kremlin has now publicly responded after the CIA director’s trip to Moscow—and Dmitry Peskov’s message was unmistakable: Russia says its offensive continues, negotiations over Ukraine are “deeply on pause,” and Moscow claims the battlefield remains in its favor.

We examine Peskov’s statements, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski’s warning that NATO should accelerate its defense preparations, and Alexander Lukashenko’s striking comments about a “common problem” in southern Belarus and southwestern Russia ahead of his meeting with Vladimir Putin.

Ukraine is also continuing its long-range campaign against Russian military and energy infrastructure. Satellite imagery discussed in the video shows damage to a Tu-95 bomber at Engels-2 airbase, while strikes on Russian oil infrastructure continue. I examine the U.S. invitation to Vladimir Putin for the December G20 summit near Miami and the central strategic dilemma it creates: could access to Donald Trump, Volodymyr Zelensky, and other leaders produce a monitored ceasefire, captive returns, or a halt to energy strikes—or would it rehabilitate Putin while Russia continues the war? Zelensky argues that Putin needs visible victories for his domestic audience, while Moscow still says no prerequisites exist for a real peace track.

I also assess Ukraine’s proposal for a reciprocal halt to attacks on energy infrastructure, its urgent request for Patriot interceptors ahead of winter, and Zelensky’s warning that North Korean personnel are learning drone operations through Russia’s war. Beyond Ukraine, I look at Baltic funding requests to counter Russian drone incursions, Finland’s renewed civil-defense testing, Mark Rutte’s deliberately ambiguous Article 5 threshold, sanctions pressure, and the new Greenland defense agreement with Denmark.
