Russian war commentators are openly acknowledging battlefield reverses, economic pressure, military deception, and the growing danger of a prolonged war of attrition. Maxim Kalashnikov warns that attacking Ukrainian cities will not deliver victory and could invite retaliation against Russia’s own vulnerable infrastructure. Other pro-war voices admit Russian forces have withdrawn from previously held positions and that false reports may be reaching all the way to the Kremlin.
