Why Trump’s Golden Statue Crossed a RED Line
A 22-foot golden statue of Donald Trump was dedicated at Trump National Doral, and Pastor Mark Burns — one of Trump’s spiritual advisors — publicly defended the event by saying, “This is not a golden calf.”
But is that really the issue?
As a Christian pastor, I believe this crosses a serious line. Scripture commands believers to honor leaders, but it does not command us to create golden images of rulers, gather clergy around them, dedicate them with religious language, or turn political loyalty into spiritual devotion.
